Sales and shops
Its Winter sale time...I've always loved a sale, brings back memories of traipsing round the shops in Sheffield with my mum, often in the cold and wet. Stopping off at John Lewis' for bacon and cheese turnover and a lemonade on a Saturday morning. Going home happy with bags of bounty and wind bitten cheeks to watch telly in the warm.
That was 30 years ago, today you don't have to leave your fireside to enjoy the sales. Which actually is a bit of a shame, where's the fun or experience in shopping alone at your computer?
Even though we only have an online store, we've firmly got 2 feet in the hooray for real shops camp. Mary Portas is a bit of a hero of ours. We like brick and mortar stores, they're the backbone of our country. We like our stockists to have real shops, where customers can try and buy...we're working really hard to have our own shop but we're not quite there yet.
I'd like to give a special mention to one of our stockists in London, Olive Loves Alfie, they opened a second store at the end of last year. An amazing feat in these tough times, the shop is full of loveliness and if you are nearby looking for an original gift, call in, say I sent you.

So this January make sure you take the time to grab your kids mittened hands and drag them around your local high street...its character building...for both of you.
And if you have insomnia, our sale is on 24 hours a day, until the end of the month.
Happy New Year.
